Ants
Ants, Family: Formicidae, are the most populous family of terrestrial animals. With 17% of all land animal biomass the true dominant life form on this planet are ants. Ants are part of the order Hymenoptera which includes other social insects like bees. The cast system, similar to the "Arachnids", includes: Queens; fertile flying males; warriors; and workers. Ants play multiple roles in an ecosystem which include predator, prey, parasite, pollinator, even farmer. Human have learned to coexist with ants. Some people use them for bio control others see them as pests. Ants can be invasive as they can travel well with human traffic. Without predators some predatory ants can decimate local populations. Some ants are known for harvesting cultured fungi or even raising cattle like aphids, this is surprising since most people believe humans are the only one who domesticate.
From a personal experiences ants have been food, first aid, entertainment, and a teacher. I have eaten ants not just by accident but from my travels to Ecuador were i was fed some sort of large ant. Here I also had the chance to close a wound of mind using ant heads, it didn't work very well though. Throughout my childhood ants have been great entertainment during school or on a hot summer day. I also learned a lot from ant colonies since they are very close to our societies infrastructure and have similar behavior when it comes to war.
The cast system set in Hymenoptera is extremely similar to the cast system in the "Arachnids". The Warrior Bugs look a lot like warrior ants when comparing the lifestyle and the mandibles. As seen below Odontomachus coquerli has large eyes and extremely large mandibles. Queens seem to be the influence for the Brain Bugs, even though actual Arachnid queens do exist in the books.

Bombardier Beetle
The Bombardier Beetle, Family: Carabidae, was clearly a heavy influence towards the Tanker Bug. The bombardier beetle which is a classification of ground beetles that can eject caustic spray from their abdomen. The beetles are generally carnivorous and the spray is usually only used as defense. The relationship between humans and the beetles is that they eat pests that feed on crops. The downside is some are considered pests them selves for damaging crops or accidental injury.
