Starship Troopers is a Sci-Fi story originally written by Robert Heilein and then brought to fame by Paul Verhoeven through TriStar Pictures. The movie, which I will be primarily focusing on, follows a man of the name of John Rico and his three friends as they graduate high school and join the military in the 23rd century. As the movie begins we see that the human race has achieved interstellar travel and has encountered an alien race called the Arachnids, or "Bugs" for short. The Arachnids are similar to arthropods in nature and have found a way to colonize other planets by throwing meteors filled with their "spore". One year after joining the Federal Service, the worlds military, the Arachnids throw a meteor at Earth destroying Buenos Aires. From this attack the Federal Service declares war on the Arachnids and attempts to attack their home world of Klendathu. Klendathu is a planet orbiting a yellow and blue sun on the other side of the Milky Way. It is covered in rocky terrain but has a breathable atmosphere, it is unknown what the Arachnids use for a nutrition source as they live underground. When approaching Klendathu the humans realize that the Arachnids are intelligent when they thought they were just random, even though they have achieved interstellar travel also. After loosing most of the Federal Forces ground infantry and a good portion of the space fleet the humans retreat to think of a new plan. The science and research department notices coordinated attacks and traps set by the Arachnids on a planet called P. So our protagonists go to Planet P unaware what is waiting for them underground.
